MuseScore 3.4 crashes when saving / Can't Disable Chord Symbol playback on 3.5

OS: macOS 10.15.5
Version 3.4.2 / 3.5RC
Problem: MuseScore 3.4 crashes when trying to save any score. MuseScore 3.5RC can't disable chord symbol playback.

Hello, my name is Eli. I am experiencing a bug in MuseScore where when I try to save any of my scores MuseScore crashes. I tried rebooting, restoring settings to factory settings and reinstalling MuseScore.

I tried the new 3.5RC and I can save my scores without crashing; however, by default, chord symbol playback is on, which is clashing with the chord voicings I wrote in the score. I tried editing the chord symbol elements individually and found a "play" option. When I disabled for all the chord symbols, it would still playback the chord symbols.

My temporary solution has been to stick with 3.5RC so I can save, and write all my chord symbols as Staff Text, which seems to be working so far.

If you need any more information let me know.
-Eli

Comments

In 3.5RC: Select a chord symbol, disable playback in inspector, set as style (that S button to the far right)
In 3.4.2 (guesswork, for more the score would be needed): remove the parts, one year one, until save doesn’t crash anymore, then regenerate them
