Font size, position and border configuration.
Attached sample score, my last work also available here on the site.
Steps: customize bar number > switch to continuous view mode > switch back to page view.
Expected result: keep customization and remember settings.
Actual result: reset to standard configuration.

What you found I think is a bug, but you're not doing this the best way so the bug won't matter. If you want to report it as a minor bug then do so at https://musescore.org/en/node/add/project_issue?pid=1236
Click any measure number and customize it. To the right of each customization there is an S. Click this or each customization and it will be applied to every measure number present and future in the score it will also update the style setting for Measure Number Text.

Probably not a bug, but by design, measure numbers are automatically generated on the fly on score layout. So unless their style mandates something, individual changes are doomed to get lost on any relayout that renumbers measures or places them on a different measure
