quando cambio lo schermo del pc mettendone uno di dimensioni minori (passando da 4k a 1080) il programma mantiene la risoluzione dello schermo più grande. in questo modo le icone rimangono minuscole e non si riescono a leggere.

This is actually by design, or a known restriction, MuseScore takes the resolution of the primary screen.

Workaround is to use the -D dpi commandline option, with dpibeing a suitable number for your screen
