Regarding size, do you mean you are seeing the score and the toolbar buttons etc displaying unusually large? In general, this means your operating is not reporting the correct monitor resolution to MuseScore - common when using TV sets with VGA connections and some other unusual cases like that. You can tell MuseScore the correct resolution by starting it from the command line with the "-D xxx" option, where xxx is the true resolution in DPI.
