Dynamics are not worlking
Hello. I am relatively new to composing on Musescore and have been trying to problem solve my dynamics no longer working. They had been working until this morning and I'm not sure what happened. I followed the suggestions above concerning returning my program to factory default settings. I also reset my velocity settings described below

You solo'ed the violin in Mixer?

I did just for sake of trying to hear dynamic play back
Same problem here. Dynamics do not work (but articluations, like accents, do).

yeah my articulations are fine it seems

hammersmithke, Your dynamics work on my system. I know that doesn't help you much. Although some instruments seem to be able to respond to your markings better than others.

When I play it back it looks like just the Violin does not respond to dynamic markings. Any ideas?

OK. The violin indeed does not respond to dynamics. Hmmmm. Looking for some errant marking in the violin part.
Unrelated but the violin has notes out of range. Not sure why you chose the octave down treble clef.
Too many beats measure 4.

thanks! The octave down treble clef is just my inexperience. I'm Ok with the violin being out of range though. I'm needing to hear some of my ideas play out prior to translating them into Reaper with real recording this winter. The extra beat in measure 4 is necessary but its a long story. I really appreciate your comments. Thank you.

I understand your comment better when reviewing this piece. How do I not use the "Octave down Treble clef."
In reply to I understand your comment… by hammersmithke
Enter the normal treble clef on the first measure of the violin part. You must have accidentally added it or changed the instrument from Tenor (voice) to violin or something similar that uses that clef.

Thank you. The instrument for the part was set to 'electric guitar' once I changed it to Violin everything was changed to it's correct place. thanks again!

That would explain it. After I pressed save on my comment I thought a guitar was the most like original instrument.

Miguel, Interestingly enough, dynamic didn't work, but when I delete and re-enter them, they work fine. The placement of your dynamics look just a hair off. I don't know why.

Mike320's solution works on hammersmithke's score but unfortunately not on mine :(
[still working on the layout too]

MVG, yours don't work because there are no dynamics in it. There is nothing but staff text with dynamics glyphs entered into them. You must enter dynamics from the dynamics palette the glyphs do nothing by themelves.

I see, thanks!
I would have never discovered that. (Feels pretty weird that you can easily introduce the correct glyphs with no effect in the playback...)

I have seen many notes in scores that use the dynamic's glyphs but have no intention of affecting a particular note's dynamic.
The main reason this is so easy is so you can create new dynamics like sfffz if you want. ctrl+shift+ dynamic letter works in dynamics also. The only thing is that you must fix the velocity if it's different than the one you alter.
It's because you (or someone) turned of "use single note dynamics" in staff properties. I check that box and it works fine.

Thank you! that worked! I lost a whole day trying to figure it out just because I must have hit that box somehow ugh. Thank you so much for your time!!
