What is this mark?

I'm working on a custom C6 Lap Steel instrument and associated template. There is a vertical line being displayed under each note in the tab score. It's not there when I use the standard out of the box guitar+tab mcsz template. So it's something I'm doing wrong, but what? See attached screenshot.

To my knowledge, these instruments are not included in the instruments list. I'm actually surprised since they are so much part of American Country and Western music. Perhaps someone like Jojo Schmitz knows for sure. It would seem reasonable to have them added to the instrument list in my opinion.

Correct, they are not in the instruments list today. Pedal steel is, but it's an entirely different beast. These are the most common tunings for 6 and 8 string lap steel. I've seen people in older forums ask for lap steel support. The problem is there are dozens and dozens of tunings in common use. Hoping in v4.x we get better/easier notation options for tablature harmonics, and some day an audio engine that supports continuous glissandos.

The basic instruments should be added to the list of available instruments. I suggest that you put the suggestion in at https://musescore.org/en/node/add/project_issue?pid=1236. There are literally only hours until 3.6 is done but this might be something that could be added - no promises. If a 3.6.1 comes out it will probably be included there.

3.6 is going to be the last of the version 3 releases. Only bug releases may happen after 3.6 (like 3.6.1) and only if necessary. Past experience says to expect 3.6.1 and maybe 3.6.2.

If the basic instruments are added, then changing string data (the same way as on a classical guitar) is not that difficult.

Version 4 is going to have a different method of adding instruments with different tunings. I'm not sure of all of the details but changing the tuning on this instrument in 4.x should be much easier.
