Score open in MuseScore
Save as .mscz file in Scores folder
Export as PDF to my PDF Files folder that I have created
File is not saved as PDF file in Files folder

I have tried saving the file to the Scores folder and other folders with no success.
I have used this feature hundreds of times in the past and understand how to direct a file into a particular folder. I deleted and reinstalled Musescore and it worked for Exporting about 10 files and then quit again.
I can still save files as .mscz files and as .png files but the Export to PDF is not working.

The file Zip_A_Dee_Doo_dah-F.mscz works fine for me, it exported to PDF no problem. So I assume it's something unique about your system or how you are doing the export that is causing the issue.

  • are you on the current version (3.5.2)?
  • have you verified the filename is listed with the ".pdf" extension in the dialog?
  • are you using the default US English translation or another? in the past, I believe some translations have messed up the order of the choices in the dropdown
  • do other scores work?
  • does this one work if you change the filename?

The error message I get is "File not found. Check the filename and try again" - which is illogical as I am trying to Save the exported PDF. I am on version 3.6 - latest version. It is stopping my project dead as I need printed scores.

Are you trying to print, or export to PDF? If you need printed scores, why not imply print - no file involved?

Anyhow, your score exports just fine for me. Be sure when using File / Export that the folder you are trying to navigate to has write permissions, and also be sure the filename you are exporting actually ends in ".pdf". Be sure that file doesn't already exist, or at least isn't write-protected.

If you continue to have trouble, please post precise step-by-step instructions to reproduce the problem (including giving the exact pathname of the folder you are trying to save to, and the filename you are trying to export to. Also say what OS you are on.
