MuseScore 3.5.2 laggy playback

• Jan 12, 2021 - 17:25

I’m writing a piano duo, and when I play it back, the sound often becomes distorted and lagging. A recording is attached.
This happens in various places on forte. No notes are faster than eighths (quavers), ♩ = 160.

OS: Windows 8 (6.2), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.2.311459983, revision: 465e7b6

Thanks for the idea. I tried various settings in I/O until it stopped producing any sound (in other applications as well), so I had to restart the computer once again. After this I see that all preferences are gone and MuseScore suggests me tours as if just installed.
One thing that hasn’t changed is that it still lags as before :)

I forgot to mention the save button in the lower right.
What sound font are you using?
Rather than a restart, do a complete shutdown. Let the computer think about its sins, as my wife says. Start it back up after a minute or so.
Try removing dynamics and articulations. If it doesn't lag, start re-adding them until there is a problem.

I did press the OK button. The sound font is the default one.
Without dynamics and pedal it lags slightly less. When I play it after a long period of silence, it sometimes plays perfectly once or twice, but if I repeat this more times, it starts to lag as earlier.

Try the 2 bar tremolo in both hands. If that helps, try 2 in the upper part and three in the lower. Then switch. Tremolo in only one hand at a time. We're trying to see which part of the tremolo is causing the problem.
I guess we need to know your computer specs. OS, CPU, ram.
I've heard this type of thing before, but I can't quite remember what caused it. Heck I don't remember yesterday that well :)
