Hi. Whenever I set a new shortcut and press apply, the shortcut seems to be ignored. I am on arch linux, with musescore 3.6.1.

steps:

1- Go to edit>preferences>shortcuts
2- change the shortcut of a quarter note to numpad+4
3- press apply

expected:

being able to change the existing note value or the input note value to a quarter note

outcome:

the old shortcut corresponding to that button

Is this a permissions problem on the file or directory containong theses settings?

Try something other than numpad and see if the problem exists there - something more standardized but otherwise unused, like the comma, or a simple combination like Shift+I. Numpads unfortunately are less standardized in terms of the keycodes they generate and they can sometimes cause confusion.

But also, I'm confused myself when you refer to "the old shortcut corresponding to that button". MuseScore shouldn't even allow you to specify a shortcut if it's already in use - you should see an error displayed. So, did you first clear that shortcut from whatever command is what previously assigned to on your system?
