- Playback a piano/synth midi
- have weird clicks for every note, then gets very grating noise whenever I play something below c0

Sounds OK to me
But indeed there is no sound for piano below C0. And as far as I can tell no Piano with such low notes, so I guess this is by design?

Oh that’s not the problem, it’s just when I do midi playback there’s always a really loud gritty noise afterwards
Are you using the defauklt sondfont or did you install another? Did you turn up the volume to the point where it is clipping, perhaps? What version of MuseScore, on what OS? And what settings in Edit / Preferences / I/O? What happens if you try different drivers there?
