How to represent this measure in MuseScore (too many notes?)
I've got a PDF of Sheet Music I purchased somewhere else (what I wanted wasn't available on musescore.com), and I'm transcribing it manually into MuseScore so I can do MusicXML and MIDI exports.
I had no issues up until this one special measure, which by my math, adds up to a total of 20/16 th's
I've never seen the numbers on the note bars like this before either, so I'm not sure if they're somehow affecting the note length/count
Should I be able to accurately represent this measure in MuseScore? I can't seem to figure out how...
I know I can switch to "Insert" mode and just add extra notes to a given measure, but I'm not sure if that's what the original sheet music measure is doing or not
Any help you could provide would be awesome
Thanks

Thank you so much, didn't know what to call that.. working perfectly
Since you were so helpful quickly, I did run into one other minor issue that I can't seem to understand, this measure's top staff seems to add up to 17/16 th's, but there are no extra markings to help me understand why that is (that I can discern, anyways)
If you have any idea, that would be great
Thanks,

Tuplet...

I don't think your example changes anything... the version I have without using a tuplet is still the same length for these notes (1.75 beats)
Is there some visual indicator on this measure to give away where that extra 1/16 is?

The visual hint is that just before the "Eb" on the top staff there are 2 1/8ths (= 4/16ths) while at the same time the bottom staff has only a dotted 1/8th (= 3/16ths).
Normally it would be advised to leave the tuplet number/ratio and/or bracket visible in such a case to clarify.

Thanks so much jeetee, I think I've got it now... I had originally identified that same spot as the problem by doing the math on where the top/bottom staff line up, but didn't know about how tuplets would've solved the issue
Attached a sample mscz with my fix which I think is correct and a screenshot, and it sounds correct to my ear when played in MuseScore
If this isn't the solution you thought it should be, please let me know, but otherwise, thanks for helping me out!
This was my solution:

Is that a screenshot of your PDF? If so, then it is wrong as the two staves have a different number of beats. If that is a screenshot of your MS file then please post again and attach the MSCZ file.
