When opening any saved Musescore projects there's a Load Error message:
Cannot read file /home/user/Documents/MuseScore3/Scores/song1:
unknown type
I've used Save with the setting MuseScore 3 file. It appears the files don't have a file type .*
When examining the file properties in Linux Mint they appear as zip files but I think that's just what it presumes they might be. But I have no idea.

Guessing this is related:
When exporting the file type is not added automatically. I have to manually add say .pdf or .png to the filename. Otherwise I get a message: Cannot determine file type.
So the save part is a duplicate of #305563: File of type drop down doesn't change/affect extension in filename in Linux.
The opening part is by design though.
