Cutaway for only selected measures?

I had heard that MuseScore 3.6 would include a feature to specify cutaway for selected measures, rather than its being for the entire staff only.

Did I hear incorrectly? Is that a feature that is in development?

With such a feature, one could highlight a section of a composition in which to apply cutaway, and then check a cutaway box in the measures property.

That would be useful if one wanted to apply cutaway to sections where an instrument was not being played at all, without affecting occasional rest measures where the instrument was being played.

I don't recall such a feature being discussed, but no reason it couldn't be implemented - just a matter of attaching another property to the staff type change element.

But maybe I'm missing something - why would you need cutaway if the the instrument isn't playing at all for a given section? It would do nothing - assuming you've hidden the empty staff, it's hidden whether set to cutaway or not. Is there some case I am not considering where this wouldn't work? Might help to attach your a score where you think this would be useful, so we can understand better.
