Playback Won't Fix No Matter What

No matter what I did I couldn't get the playback to work. In the view menu, mixer and synthesizer are greyed out. The playback controls, toggle MIDI button and the metronome at the top row are also greyed out. As far as I know, I've read every forum post about playback issues and did everything suggested in the official "How to restore sound if playback stops working" article (https://musescore.org/en/node/96811). I restored Musescore to factory settings many times, and even completely deleted and re-downloaded it from the site. "Restart Audio and MIDI Devices" button under I/O tab does nothing. Also, it is not like I"ve never get it to work, there were sound before, I just didn't use it for a while, didn't updated the IOS or anything during that period (I'm using a Mac) and when I opened the application 3 days ago, I had this issue. I've easily spent 3-4 hours on the internet trying to solve this, plase help... Also, in the I/O section API, Device, MIDI input and MIDI output are not greyed out but no dropdown menu appears when I click on them. Finally, I tried to install the Extensions in the Resource Manager under Help window, those installations also failed every time I tried and failed around at 15-20% every time.
