Unable to download MuseScore
Hi, can someone please help me.
I have MuseScore on my laptop and also on my main computer. I usually right a score on the laptop as it’s far more comfy sitting and it does take me a while . I then transfer the file to the folder on my main comp for playing as that’s my piano comp. however this last time I tried the main comp version said it could not install as the file was from a newer version .
Fair enough so I tried to download the latest version on the main comp but it won’t let me . I tried deleting the app and now I can’t find it anywhere on my comp but when I try to redownload it states that the old one can’t be deleted but it has been. So now I’m stuck with no MuseScore on my main computer which is exactly where I need it for playing piano .
I’ve included the pics of what it says . Any help would be great.

Ps this won’t let me upload the pics but one says the older version 3 can’t be deleted contact support. Another say invalid installation package and another says the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Comments
Try downloading an earlier version. Maybe run as administrator. Download from the official page: https://musescore.org/en/download#older-versions
Then check to see if it suggests you upgrade.

I mentioned that I’m now unable to download as it says the old version can’t be deleted.
However I’ve deleted everything. I’ve even gone into the folders to check so I’m stumped 🤔

The ability to download has got nothing to do with what is installed or deleted on your computer.
Go to https://musescore.org/download and click on the button labeled "Download for Windows (64-bit)"
Unless you're on a 32bit Windows, then use the "32-bit package"
Once downloaded, double-click the msi file, that startes the installer
I don't think you've said what operating system you are on. But you should definitely try to get the update working on the main computer. What OS are you on, and what specifically goes wrong when you try to install the current version? Can you post a screen shot and/or the exact text of the error message you see?
Also not sure what you mean about something preventing you from uploading pictures, but certainly the site allows it. Just click the "Choose a file" button right below where you type your comment, and be sure to use an actual image file (eg, PNG or JPG).

I’m on windows 10 . Any time I’ve tried to update I get the mentioned msg . The laptop was a later install .
I don’t understand how it would suddenly not accept the files when I’ve done it in the past . Laptop is also windows 10
Does this all mean that your laptop updated without you knowing about it? Seems unlikely. Normally you would update from HELP in the menu bar. Not by downloading and installing a newer version. Besides, when you uninstall software, not everything is removed. This is especially true of MuseScore. Depending on your OS, you may need to go through and manually delete MuseScore folders. Well, except you scores folder. Move that somewhere else.

I’ve gone into the folders and made sure everything has gone .
I have no way of updating. I’ve checked and there’s no way of updating. As far as I know it’s an app that will update automatically. I believe the app is an older version of the download. That’s why I deleted it so I could download the other version but now I’m in this mess and MuseScore has refused to help . Just sent me here . Tbh I’m not happy with the response and I’m looking at a different software.

MuseScore has refused to help I guess that means support@musescore.com refused to help and sent you here? If so that's right and as it should be. They are responsible for the musescore.com website and the mobile apps (for Android and iOS). Only.
Support for the MuseScore editor (Windows, Mac, Linux) is via the forum here on musescore.org. Only.

I don't believe this, sorry. The upload limit is some megabytes, a screen shot (taken with Ctrl+PrintScreen) would be more in the kilobytes.
Or are are you using a digitial camera for this? if so either don't or reduce resolution

Ok I’ll have to write it down as I can’t post the pics .
Firstly I’ve searched my computer for MuseScore files and found one in the cache and one in my personal file that I called MuseScore to store songs I’m working on .
I’ve deleted these too.
I’ve redownload and this is the first msg .
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
So I press cancel and the next msg is
The older version of MuseScore 3 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group .
