From memory, this has already been commented on. I don't remember if it was a thread in a forum or a duplicate of an old issue. In any case, it was noted that by adopting the Tab Serif font (in Advanced Style properties) instead of the "default" Tab Sans, the result was better in terms of centering but also size.

Looks like the same issue as #292419: Small and grace notes in tablature are not centered . Tab Serif is also affected, though less so. The historical styles seem to be OK.
This is not the topic (or issue) I was thinking or remembering.
