It would be great if note entry, in addition to the "C means C" approach would be to have an approach similar to Finale's simple entry and the entry of NoteWorthy Composer where hitting "enter" adds a note (of selected value) to the current position of the courser which is modified and controlled by the arrow keys (←↑↓→).

Personally I've never like the Sibelius-like approach of "C means C".

There is no cursor currently in MuseScore.
But you can use C to enter every notes (like return) and move the note after that with up and down arrows.

Status (old) active fixed

In latest nightly builds you can press R instead of Enter to achieve more-or-less the same effect.

(Tested using r.2928 nightly, Windows 7)
