MuseScore files saving and then doubling as a new file starting with an s.

• May 24, 2021 - 01:16

Why is this? Whenever I save something on MuseScore 3, it always creates a duplicate file called, for example, sccr2320. Does this happen to others or is it just me, and more importantly, can it be fixed?

The other weird thing is that when I go to my "Scores" folder, the duplicates don't appear.

Those files are autosave files that are created so MuseScore can recover after a crash. Normally you'd never see them, but you must have experienced a crash, and then agreed when MuseScore asked if you wanted to restore your previous session the next time you started. Even so, you'd still normally never see those files, unless a second crash occurred. So probably that's what happened. See https://musescore.org/en/node/52116 for more on these files and where they live. They are harmless and it looks like they've already bailed you out at least once, but now that those particular files have done their job, you can safely delete them from the folder shown in the article above.
