Help with installing Musescore

I've tried numerous times to install this software on my PC (Win 10). The installer runs ok but when I get the 'Install' button and I select it, the software tells me that there is another installation in progress and that it should complete before the Muse installation continues. The installation then terminates. Of course, there is no other installation in progress.
What's going on?

I might guess the last install somehow left a file behind that is fooling the current install. Unfortunately I know little about how Windows installers work, but my guess is if you do some web searches on that error message, you'll probably find advice on how to find and remove the file that is tripping things up - it's presumably a generic installer error and not anything really specific to MuseScore.
