Can't Playback Anything
I opened up Musescore 3.6.2 and the buttons that control the playback are all greyed-out.

I went into Edit> Preferences. Once in the preferences I went into the general tab. Within the "Program Start" section of General, I selected "Show play panel".

You can show that from the View menu too. Or even toggle it via an F-key

Hmm, merely showing the play panel shouldn't change anything. If the playback buttons on the toolbar are greyed out, the ones in the play panel would be also. Check the toolbar again - are you seeing the buttons enabled now? if so, probably the issue was something simple, like you were currently in Edit mode which disabled playback.

It wasn’t because I was in edit mode. It was already greyed out when I first opened up the app and was still greyed out after closing and opening it again. I went to edit my preferences and clicked “show play panel” and it ended up working so not sure what happened.
