MIDI channels for multiple voices on a staff
On a staff on which there are notes in more than one voice, how do we assign different MIDI channels to the different voices?
Thanks.
Best regards,
Doug

The way to do that would be to first make sure you are using an instrument that has multiple channels assigned to it (eg, the "Men" or "Women" instruments, which are set up that way to allow for S/A and T/B splits - or violin, or trumpet, or electric guitar). Then add staff text and use its properties to assign the voices to channels as you see fit.

Hi, Marc,
How do I use staff text to assign MIDI channels?
I see how to use staff text to assign MuseScore so-called "channels" to a voice but not MIDI channels.

Once you have the channels in MIDI, simply go to View / Mixer, open up the channel strip for the instrument using the arrow button. You should see they are already set to different MIDI channels for each MuseScore channel, but you should be able to customize it further here.

Oh, yes, I knew that, but it got away from me on this situation!
Thanks.

Hi, Marc, would there be any way for me to revive this topic, and/or ask you to expand upon it even further? In my case, for example, I have four flutes, two to a stave, and would like to still hear each of the four flute-parts properly (if at all possible in MuseScore Studio)

Can you explain what you mean by “properly”? You don’t need to do anything with MIDI explicitly to hear the parts.
