Note: this only happens to eighth note grace notes. 16th note grace notes are rendered correctly. See the two uploaded (very small) musicXML files, one which shows the bug (bustedWithEighth.musicxml), and one which has been edited to replace 'eighth' with '16th', and shows correct rendering (worksWith16th.musicxml). You can diff the two files and see that the only change is 'eighth' -> '16th'.
