Using Musescore for Guitar

• Sep 5, 2014 - 21:54

I am new to Musescore, but have been using Finale for years. I compose and arrange for solo Fingerstyle guitar. I have three questions regarding the new beta.

1) I'd like for the time sig. to be 7/8. This does not appear to be an option. Solution?

2) In Finale, I can create a score, then copy/paste to create the TAB. Then, I tweak it until it's correct. Does Musescore allow for this? If so, how?

3) The particular score I'm working on is in Drop D tuning. DADGBE Can Musescore be customized for different tunings. If so, how?

Thanks for helping out a new member!

Hi

1. Right-click stave, 'Stave Properties…' and 'Advanced style properties…'.

2. Pasting pitched content to tablature should be fine - try it.

3. Right-click stave, 'Stave Properties…' and 'Edit String Data'.

Do these solve things for you?

Hello,

1) View -> Master Palette -> Time Signatures -> Create Time Signature (so, 7/8) -> Add -> drag and drop this new 7/8 in the Time Signatures Palette.

2.3) Please, for the Tabs, and editing string data, start by reading and trying with this. If you do not understand some things, then I can help much more :)
