Piano popping sound

• Aug 26, 2021 - 21:33

Whenever I enter or play a note from the standard piano instrument in musescore, I get this weird popping sound along with it. The pop comes every time a note is hit whether it be in playback or simply whenever I enter a note. The pop does not seem to happen with any other instrument I have tested in the program. The musescore version I have downloaded is completely fresh, as this is also a new m1 macbook pro I am running it on. I know the pop should not be there, as I had no problems with this on my previous windows PC. Project-files where the piano worked just fine on the previous PC now get the popping sound. So does new projects.

I have tried deleting and downloading the program again from both safari and chrome a couple times now. Every download has had the same issue.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I have installed this soundfont via your link: MuseScore 2 (up to version 2.1) came with FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3 (13.8 MB).

The popping sound is no longer there in the piano instruments sound. The sounds/instruments i tested seem to be working fine. The quality of the instruments in the soundfont pack as a whole of course seem slightly worse than the standard MuseScore_General.sf3 file which I guess is what you get when you use older versions of the musescore standard soundfont. However I find this solution to be adequate for my needs as the popping sound was getting unbearable in comparison to slightly worse sound-quality.

Thank you for the support. Consider this issue resolved.
