No sound Musescore 3.6

• Sep 2, 2021 - 17:14

Hi, I updated Musescore and there is no playback sound. I was using it yesterday before the update and it worked fine. I have reverted factory and MIDI settings, tried to reinstall the soundfont...the view-->synthesizer option is grayed out which might be part of the problem. There are no I/O options available, they are blank.

I have tried them all...calmly haha
1. Cannot complete, Synthesizer is grayed out
2. Factory setting restore did not resolve the issue
3. Can't reinstall sound font if I can't view Synthesizer
4. I updated my sound drivers
5. I restarted audio and MIDI devices
6. Irrelevant, I have a Mac
7. I don't have a touch bar
8. I am now on the support forum :)

A PRAM (Parameter Random Access Memory)/NVRAM (NV for Non-Volatile) reset and/or audio driver may solve it (on Mac)
Restart the Mac in safe mode by holding Shift at start-up time, and then reboot again.
There has been a recent report that, on Mac, Native Instruments' software Komplete Kontrol, resp. 2 of the agents it installs, NIHostIntegrationAgent and NIHardwareAgent, to cause this issue, cure was to disable them from running and restart?

How did you do the update? Some people like to totally delete the old version first. Then download and install the new version. Some people just use the update option.
Is MuseScore setup as a play back device your Audio Settings in Finder/Preferences?
