Paste to VOICE 2
Tried half a day to do this. Is it possible to cut a section of notes from a stave in a separate score and paste into VOICE 2 of a stave in a new score?

Only if these notes stem from voice 2 too.
Swap them before the copy, if need be

Or after the copy, if it's literally a new score so you don't have to worry about overwriting anything.
Depending on what else is going on with the scores in question, it might also make more sense to use Tools / Implode, or to use View / Select Filter to provide further control.
