use any kind of drum input (MIDI, piano keyboard)
switch to Drum input palette and select a note
any MIDI or piano keyboard note now get stuck to the note selected in Drum input palette.
How can you deselect the note in the Drum input palette so you can get back to inputting with MIDI keyboard for example?

See #150621: Selecting an instrument in the Drum Input Palette effectively disables drum input from the on-screen Piano and/or MIDI keyboard. Unfortunately I'm not aware of a workaround, other than closing/reopening.
