Project
In Style, uncheck "hide empty staves within systems"
select a part, right click and select "Stave/Part Properties"
on 2 parts select Hide when empty = Never uncheck
on other parts select auto
select Style and check Hide empty staves within systems.
The entire score is hidden and only comes back if the style option is unchecked again.
Comments
I can't reproduce. Please share a sample score
And clarify that
on 2 parts select Hide when empty = Never uncheck
Not sure what to uncheck there?
Also clarify whether part means instrument (of main score) or (linked) part, those separat tabs.
File as requested
Position cursor in the last bar with a note in it (where i've got to effectively) then select Style, Hide empty staves...

Parts = one stave of a system
i have asked 2 staves to be hidden=Never (Sop. & Vlc.) and other staves (Volin and Cimbalo) to hide in the cantatas they are not used in.
You mean at that 2nd section break, attached to a horizontal frame rather than the previous measure?
I think you really want a section break on the measure bofore that (and a page break) and a vertical frame instead of a horizontal one
Also "Hide empty staves" is really something you should only enable after having entered all the notes
This score is work-in-progress. - so lots of things to be tidied up.
However, If you open the score, select Bar 99 (so it is highlighted in blue in one of the staves) of the last cantata with any notes in them, then go into Style, Hide empty staves, you will see that the whole score is hidden
No, I don't see that. What I do see directly after that measure (number 416, globally), with 'Hide empty staves:
without:
OK, I've tidied up the score.
It may be that I was putting section and page breaks in a horizontal frame rather than attaching them to a bar.
Once I've made this change the stave hiding seems to work better.
So, I'm happy to leave it at that.
Thanks.
That's at least a workaround.
Not sure whether this is a bug at all, or just by design?
