MuseScore 3.6.2.548021803 stops responding
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64,
MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.6.2.548021803, revision: 3224f34
This happens to me regularly, yet I cannot say what causes it. The only consistent thing that I can identify is going on is that I open MuseScore, do some work, save, then I let it sit idle for quite some time. Idle long enough for my computer to sleep. In my case, usually overnight or longer. Then, I come back and start work, make a few changes to a score that I left open. After a few changes, it won't change something, and is then not responding, and I have to do a hard shutdown of MuseScore. The changes I make are not consistent. I might be adding a note, or changing a pitch of an existing note, or even doing a playback.
I'll try to provide anything asked of me, but will be traveling tomorrow so may not be available for over 24 hrs.

There are programs that don't wake up properly when the computer goes to sleep. MuseScore tends to be one of them. Seems safer to save and close the program. Do you have several fonts installed that take time to open?
After sleep mode, try pressing the MIDI icon on the toolbar twice before doing any editing.
Windows has a habit of enumerating all audio devices after wakeup from sleep, but the MuseScore code is not able to detect that, holding invalid references to your audio subsystem.
Pressing that MIDI icon twice will force MuseScore to refresh it's audio device information by requesting it explicitly again from Windows.

jeetee - this sounds like a likely solution. I have noticed sometimes the lack of playback sounds. I'll try to remember to take the step of pushing the MIDI icon twice, and I'll report back if the lock up problem persists.
