Add a staff

How do I add a staff? For example, I want to add a solo staff to a piano accompaniment. A previous version of MuseScore allowed me to do it. In fact, I could add all the staves for a 16-piece dance band arrangement.

When I press i, then select piano, and then click OK, nothing happens.
When I look at the Edit menu, there is no "instruments" submenu.

I made a lead sheet. Now there is a request for piano accompaniment. So I want to add piano to the lead sheet. How do you do that in Musescore 4?

Edit: OK, figured it out. First, make sure your lead sheet score is not set to 'piano' already as the instrument. Mine was for some reason. Changed it to vocal, soprano. Then select the first measure so you get the blue frame around it, then do the 'i' etc.
On the far right of the instrument dialog you'll see a list of scores. You'll want to use the arrow key to move the vocal score up above the piano, since the just-added piano goes to the top by default.

I am pretty sure that it is not necessary to change an existing piano to another instrument. Press "i" (whatever is selected) and add a new instrument. It's just like creating a new score.

As for the order of the instruments: there are several common templates for the order of the instruments. Of course, you can set your own order by moving them up and down.
And you can save your own arrangement and instrument selection as a custom template and select it again the next time you create a new score.
