Join MuseScore for Google Summer of Code 2022!
We are delighted to announce that MuseScore is participating as an open source organization in Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2022. For those who are unaware, GSoC is an annual program where new contributors are paid a stipend by Google to write code for various organizations in open source.
Last year, three highly talented students successfully completed projects with us here at MuseScore. This year, you don’t have to be a student to take part (students are still welcome though!) and there are a few other changes that potential candidates need to be aware of. Please see this page for more information about the program and how to apply to join MuseScore as a GSoC contributor.

Can I ask what is the status of last year GSoC contributions? Are they available in the current MuseScore 4 development version?

Partly.

The Accessible Colour Themes project (i.e. high contrast mode) has been merged and is available in the development builds. The other projects need a bit of TLC from our internal developer team before they can be merged, which probably won't happen until after MuseScore 4 is released.

That was the previous year. Similar story there - some of the work done that year was merged already, some not. Not sure how often it works out that all code from all projects makes it in. But anyhow, it's a great program that has provided tons of value for MuseScore, its users, and the participants!

Oh, that was in 2020 already? Time flies...
