when plugging headphones in, or taking them out, MuseScore doesn't recognise the change

This seems to be true on any computer. The only solution I have found is to close MuseScore and re-open - whatever audio output is there when it opens is the only one it can use.

Another way is to toggle the M UDI button in the toolbar (looks like a 5-pin DIN connector)
This is a long term known issue
