Laptop frequently crashes (not caused by Musescore) while Musescore is open and usually the score I am editing saves fine before rebooting. This time, opening the score below shows a "Cannot read this file" error. I can still see the file size is around 77kb, it just can't be opened. Is there any way to recover this file? Under .msbackup folder there is a backup score from 2 hours before the crash. My auto-save settings are set to save every 2 minutes. How can I adjust the frequency at which the backup file is updated?

The backup is not the autosave; the backup is only updated when you open a score (or more accurately, on the first save after the open. It's designed to get back to the beginning of the editing session, not to recover after a crash. The autosave is the one for crash recovery, so that's what you probably want. https://musescore.org/en/node/52116 for more info, and if you have further questions, it is best to ask in the Suppott forum and also say what OS you are if you need help finding your autosave copy.
