Lost progress
The work I did on a composition yesterday is not there, despite saving frequently throughout my work. Is there a way to recover it please? My daughter had mentioned similar happening for her and I assumed she had not saved it, but now I realise that she had. If this is a fault is there any way of guaranteeing it doesn't happen again - we both lost a lot of work.

All found now, thank you for pointing to this, it really helped.
If you saved it, then it is absolutely positively still on your drive. in the exact same folder you saved it to - MuseScore never deletes your scores. Presumably, the issue is simply that you are looking in the wrong folder. If you can't remember which folder it is actually in, do a complete search of your drive, using whatever tools your OS provides for this purpose. Do be sure to check the "autosave" files mentioned in the article references above - sometimes after a crash and restoring a previous session, people dont' realize they are actually working on those, and can end up simply continuing to work directly on autosave files rather than their actual scores.
