- Install Musescore 3.6.2 stable using Ubuntu's software installer. Viewing install detail, it appears to be a snap package.
- Open Musescore. Though installed as latest/stable it comes up as development/unstable and is, in fact, unstable. That is, every 15 seconds or so the app brings up a window saying that Musescore has stopped responding and giving me the option to Force Quit or Wait.
This problem is the same whether I install thru Ubuntu's bundled software center or download the appimage from Musescore.
Problem in the upstream versioning?
Comments
Use the AppImage, this is the one supported version.

Maybe I'm not being clear. I AM installing the appimage. My point is that it comes up as unstable/development.
No, you wrote it appears to be a snap package
The snap package is not the AppImage
The AppImage is what you can get from the download page of this website here, https://musescore.org/en/download
