RESOLVED: App crashed, All changes lost, there is a .temp file, is there hope?
When I tried to save my changes (from the last 2 hours) the app crashed.
I re opened and everything was there just like the last minute changes were lost.
Redo.
App crashes again.
re open the app and now all the changes from today were lost.
I have a .mscz file (which has the last state from yesterday)
I have a .temp file (which presumably contains the changes as the version history shows change times exactly congruent with when the app crashed.
Is there any chance I could recover the changes using the .temp file? or any other way?
PS. I cant upload the temp file as it is not allowed file format here
Any help is appreciated (Ironically I was arranging the song Help!)

The .temp file only exists during the file save process and is likely to be an incomplete file if you crashed during that.

@jeetee You saved my life (while I should have saved my files more often). I could find the recovery files in the depths of the file system.
Are you saying you literally never saved once during those two hour? That would be most unfortunate indeed. But assuming you did save successfully at some point, then on Windows, OneDrive will restore any of the last saved versions, and on macOS I gather Time Machine cane do the same.
But also, the previously recovered score is probably still there in the autosave folder as per the article linked to above.

Yes I did not save during 2hrs of work as I am used to nowadays autosave everywhere but rest assured I will save every 5min. from now on ,-). Thanks for your help. I could recover my latest version using the linked article.
