I had long noticed that when typing lyrics, if I'm typing quickly, occasionally the cursor will oddly jump back a word; recently I've been able to narrow it down to a very specific behavior. When I type the word "I" (capital i) and immediately hit space, the cursor will almost always jump back to the previous word. I find if I type the I and wait a moment before I hit space, it works fine. It's almost as if there's some kind of macro that detects "I + space" in quick succession.

For example, if I'm typing in the following lyrics:

"Don't you ever say I just walked away"

After I type "I" and hit space, instead of moving to the next note so I can continue with "just", the cursor jumps back to "say" and if I'm not paying attention I overwrite it.

Here's a short gif of the behavior: https://gfycat.com/adorablewellgroomedamberpenshell

Thanks!

I didn't see a shortcut that would cause the issue; the only thing related to the letter I (eye) is the Instruments dialog. I did try a factory reset, and that does seem to have fixed it, oddly enough. I didn't have many custom things to lose, but my scores look a good bit different now!

Indeed, could be the Shift key itself is a little sticky.

Scores shouldn't be affected one bit by factory reset - only the behavior of the program. If you believe you are seeing a difference, best to ask for help on the Support forum and attach the score you believe looks different than before. If you have a PDF or other image of how it looked before, that would be helpful.
