Try a revert to factory settings (in Help menu). And again, if you continue to have trouble with these experimental pre-release builds of MU4, please use GitHub as requested.
This is the behavior I see also, as of 26 January with 4.0.1.230121751 on MacOS Ventura 13.1. I shrink the keyboard down to small, and reduce its frame size, but on resuming MS4 the piano keyboard is almost always reset to "normal" size and the containing frame has usually (but not always) expanded to fill almost half the window. (Also, the app window has generally expanded to fill the entire display, although I always shrink it down a little.) This is obviously not a huge issue, but it's different from what I expect after MS3, which always correctly reopened with the same state I was last using.

Can you post a screenshot, and also describe your system (OS, display size & resolution, etc)? It opens normally for me.
