Tie in Musescore 4 doesn't work

Hi
I'm trying to have a long violin note fade. So I'm writing the whole note as two tied half notes and I use a hairpin between them to change the dynamics. This doesn't work right in Musescore 4 as each half note is sounding out while fading. So the fading works but not the tie note. Any work around?

This was broken indeed in one of the beta builds., but it was fixed soon after - check a current nightly build instead.

What do you mean? I have a beta version of musescore 4, how do i renew it?

I have done it but when i try to open musescore now it doesn't work. I think it's because i have to delete the previous version but i don't know how to do it

I've downloaded MuseScore a couple of days ago, the current version (4.2.1) is the only one I've ever had and ties still don't work :(
