Project

1) Create a new score with contrabassoon.
2) Open mixer and select Muse Sounds Contrabassoon.
3) Write out a chromatic scale from written Bb1 to written Bb4.

Any notes above Eb3 do not speak. Although this range not as commonly used or as characteristic on the instrument, it is nonetheless important to be able to have playback for. This bug does not occur in the MS basic soundfont. Additionally, there seem to be some problems with laggy playback on contrabassoon in faster passages, but that seems to be tied to a broader issue.

Comments

Limited range has been noted for several instruments. See https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/13894. Contrabassoon is not mentioned there but a general fix is under discussion and on the Muse Sounds To Do list.

I have transcribed Weber's 2nd Clarinet Concerto and it is very frustrating that the very first note played by the soloist is "out of range" according to Muse Sounds.
There is a big build up from the orchestra and then ... nothing.
