I've used additive time signatures in a new piece which I've written in MuseScore 4.0. The time signature works fine in the full score and in parts playing at the time of the Time Sig. change, however in parts that are resting, the addition collapses into one number. Breaking that measure from the multi-measure rests also doesn't seem to be working. Photos attached.

More aesthetic than functional?
Regression vs. what? Does Mu3 behave differently here?

Ah yep, just tested it. Doesn't look to be any different in MuseScore 3. But there is the impractical workaround of breaking the multi-measure rest. Doesn't seem to be working at all in MS4
