Publishing titles formatting issue, please Help

• Jan 3, 2023 - 15:57

It seems like when I publish my scores the titles seem to snap to a format like "Composition - Composer" when I assign the scores to a composition but I'm not entirely cool with that.

Like for instance, in my first attachment (bad title.png), the title to my score 'purrgatory blues - Niv' has been all messed up. It displays the name "Purrgatory blues – Bar-Niv, Rami Purrgatory Blues - Niv" because the composer Niv did not actually exist in MuseScore's database just yet and has just automatically made whoever 'Bar-Niv' and 'Rami' the composers of the piece. I'm sure those guys are nice people but I don't exactly want them incorrectly listed as the composers in the title.

It seems like nothing I do can make the correct title, 'purrgatory blues', work. It doesn't even seem like I can compromise with MuseScore's format when I try to title it 'purrgatory blues - Niv'.

The same thing has kind of happened with few other scores of mine, shown in another attachment I've added below (bad title 2.png). The intended title is 'american healthcare (glitzy)' but it has been changed to 'American Healthcare (Glitzy) - Penelope Scott – Penelope Scott american healthcare (glitzy)'.

This score actually already had an existing composition in MuseScore's database, but when I assigned it to it's composition, the title completely fell apart. I want the nice custom titles but I don't want to list the scores as my original compositions which seems like the only way to get nice pretty titles, but I don't want to list them as original compositions because they, y'know, aren't my original compositions.

An exception to this rule, however, is shown in my final attachment (somehow good title.png)
Somehow, by the luck of God or some other higher power, my scores 'lotta true crime' and 'cigeratte ahegao' have good titles that break the MuseScore title format and also aren't clunky AND somehow they've been assigned to their correct compositions?! I'm just really confused. I'm not sure why MuseScore lets me title some of my scores nice and my other ones not so nice but I'd really like a solution or at this point I would take a janky work-around.

Thank you to whoever responds to this in advance!
