Scores and measures

In the Middle East there are significant parts of music that while written in notes, they are not follow any particular time signature and the time signature is open to the discretion of Vocals and instrument players. Scores for this type of music usually written manually and contains no time signature and measure lines. I tried to write some with MuseScore with no luck as it requires time signature. Is there any way to override measures and Time signatures?
