Incorrect pitch and tempo reproduction (sound device issue)

This issue appears to be dependent on the sound output device being used within Musescore.

When trying to use the headphone jack on this laptop (with external speakers or headphones) sounds played back in Musescore are extremely high-pitched and at the wrong tempo, almost as if the sample rate is incorrect. Manually changing sample rates in the Preferences menu does not resolve or improve this issue.

When external devices are disconnected, playback from the built-in speakers appears to be normal.
