From what I can gather this bug is unique to only this project (none of my other files were able to reproduce this bug,) however it always occurs on the attached file. As the title states, whenever I attempt to add a Tie to my cello part (or copy and paste one,) Musescore crashes. This bug has only started to occur since the latest patch (4.0.1).

Try this with a copy of your score:
Export only the cello staff to musicXML. Delete the cello instrument in your score. Add a cello and copy the cello from musicXML into the cello staff in your score. Check the ties.
You are a heavy user of directives, so check the cello part, you probably lost some.
