Boogie-Woogie Base Measure

• Feb 5, 2023 - 19:06

I am trying to score a boogie-woogie baseline but I can't get the rests in the correct place. Here is the rhythm.
1/4 note
1/16 note
1/8 rest
1/16 note
1/4 note
dotted 1/8 note
1/16 note
When I try to score the 1/4 note; 1/16 note; 1/8 rest; 1/16 note, MuseScore gives me 1/4 note; 1/16 note; 1/16 rest; 1/16 note, 1/16 rest.
Thoughts?
P.S. Thank you to the two individuals that answered my last question so quickly.

Assuming 4/4 time signature and that all notes are C's, click on an empty measure and type N to activate note entry mode.
Then...
type 5 (selects 1/4 note duration)
type C (to enter C note)

type 3 (1/16 duration)
type C

type 4 (1/8 duration)
type 0 (zero for the rest)

type 3 (1/16 duration)
type C

type 5 (1/4 duration)
type C

type 4. (N.B. a period toggles the augmentation dot)
type C

type 3 (1/16 duration)
type C
