Project
- Take a score with multiple instruments and lower the volume of all but one in the mixer.
- Export the score as midi file.
- Play the midi file. All instruments are loud again.
This used to work in 3.x. We need this to create files to help choir members rehearse their parts at home.
Exporting individual parts is not what we want. We want the other parts to be less prominent, not absent.
Comments
I can confirm this, so now please report this to the developers via their GitHub issue tracker - https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/new?assignees=&labels=&te…
Meanwhile, is there a reason to not simply export MP3 instead?

Uh, is it really correct to duplicate issues there?
We are not using MP3s because they are much bigger. It is not uncommon for us to have pieces with 8 vocal sections. Midi players often also allow to change the speed and to enable a metronome.
Yes. This community-based tracker is just so users can get help from other users confirming if issues are actual bugs or not (and the plan is to close it down soon). The developers are only using GitHub.

Great, thanks!
BTW, I'm sure you've realized this, but if you are using MIDI, and your members are already comfortable changing tempo or adding a metronome, they can presumably also change levels in their players.
