Try to launch musescore 4 (both on 4.0.0 and 4.0.1) while having my interface selected as the windows output results in the startup screen popping up for a second and disappearing while the app crashes. If I set the windows output device to the inbuilt motherboard one (some Realtec one) I can launch the program and interact with it quite well (I havent tested that much for obvious reasons), but if I try to switch the audio device in Musescore 4's preferences to my interface the application freezes and crashes.
My interface is a TASCAM series 208i, a 4 in 8 (expandable to 24) out interface.
This does not depend on the score that I am loading so I wont bother attaching.

I encountered the same behavior with a Behringer UMC404HD. MuseScore needs to at least alert the user to the existence of the problem. And frankly, it should be able to launch even if it doesn't like the audio interface. It should just disable the audio and alert the user. This is what Reaper does in a similar situation.
