How to type a short maj7 (jazz) chord symbol?

• Mar 9, 2023 - 16:21

Hi,

if I type "c7" my MU4 understands and plays the wanted chord (c e g bb). Also works fine with "c6".
but "ct" [t for triangle] displays as wanted, but I do not hear a major7 just a major (c e g) chord.
"cmaj7" seems to work, but I would rather have a short symbol.

Thanks
Kai

I have also always used the triangle to mean major7. And the Wikipedia article about chord notation describe it in this way in the "chord quality" chapter. But if you google a bit you will find that many use it to just denote a major chord, including MuseScore. And in the same wikipedia article you you can see in the "Common types of chords" chapter that it is referred to as only a "major" chord.
