Czech translation

• Nov 17, 2009 - 14:52

Hi,
it is some week, when I was looking for some information about czech translation. Then I tried to contact designated? translator, but I didn't menaged to even connect with him. So now, after some months, I started with work and initially made little more then 600 strings.

My question is: what's the opinion of developers about my effort. Shortly - should I continue? :-) (I will; the list with my translation projects, whole translations or (in the end of the list completions) partial can be seen at: fripohled.blogspot.com)

Greetings, Pavel Fric

Hi,

I attache the file with little translated strings. Almost all (of course the list with translation notes to some used terminology in my separate text file is quite long). Despite of this fact I thing it could be commited into source to replace longly untranslated czech file (code: cs).

Hi,

I tried to test the translation. Because of not knowing, where should it be placed in my Mandriva Linux, I downloaded Windows 0.9.5 version and replaced existing file. But many entries are still looking as I described in title of this comment (in many menus of main menu). I tried to use my own translation of Qt 4.5, I added it into same folder, but all was allways the same. Were there so many changes in prepared coming version, so I should wait for the new release, or has this experience another reason?

I wrote that I didn't translate all - about 11 strings, and half of this number were names for languages, that weren't displayed correctly, 2 when there was a developers comment: Do not translate.
